Snow Leopards

Hi dear friends! I thought that it was time for my first proper nature post, so I decided to write about snow leopards, which are beautiful but vicious mammals. My biggest concern was and still is that there are only about 6,000 snow leopards remaining in the wild. It is really rare to see people taking photographs of snow leopards, since they live in cold, mountainous areas. People don’t usually climb up high mountains to look for these animals. One reason why the snow leopard population is decreasing is because people who live up in mountain ranges such as the Himalayas hunt down these animals for food, as they are the only food source available. However, there is a solution to this problem. Many zoos and breeding areas take snow leopards to help their population rise, and in fact they are doing quite well!!! They have managed to save at least 1,000 snow leopards from being hunted down. I do hope that this tiny bit of information has made you interested in animals and nature as I have been. Let’s save the endangered!
